Harper's 5th Birthday Bash: 300Bowl

Every year, the theme of Harper's party has been an obvious choice. And, this year was no different. He is obsessed with hunting and fishing, but having an August birthday in Texas makes an outdoor party difficult. So after lots of talking he decided that he wanted a bowling party. It took him a while to commit to one type of party. Birthdays are a BIG deal in our family so I understand why he had such a hard time! I quickly got busy on the invitations and cake...

The party was on Sunday afternoon so he could hardly wait for the fun to begin. It is hard to wait until 3pm to have your party! He couldn't wait to play with all of his buddies at such a cool place...and he LOVED helping me make the plates and party favors for the party.

When we arrived at the bowing alley they had overlooked our party. Thankfully we arrived early to decorate, so they were able to quickly get everything ready. The Birthday boy was beyond excited hyper and did not want to wait for all of his friends to arrive to get the party started!

We tried "regular" bowling at first, but even the 5lb ball was a little tough. The bowling alley had these awesome ramps made for kids. The kids just had to place the ball on the ramp and then pushed it down.  My kind of bowling...with bumpers too!!

I love watching Harper's facial expressions when we all sang Happy Birthday. He got embarrassed at first, but loved blowing out the candles!

He loved all the special attention and love he received during the party. He has the sweetest friends and family who gave him lots of attention!!

Look at these cute party guests!!!

It was really the most precious thing to stand back and watch my sweet first born enjoy his party. Thank you God for this happy boy and thanks to everyone in attendance who helped us make fun memories.

Casa de Chaos

Things have really begun to get interesting around here!! I have become a full time referee as I am constantly separating kids and trying to keep everyone safe and happy. I need to shave a few heads or purchase swim caps. These guys like to pull hair!!
Who knew a box could provide hours of entertainment?!

Look at those pink cheeks, it is HOT!

Summer Adventure

Cam has been in St. Louis all week on a business trip. I have been at home cooped up inside because it is so HOT outside. Abby, my fun 15 year old friend, has been staying with us. She is a life saver and a great extra set of hands. I think cabin fever got the best of me and we decided to get out of the house for a little CFA and Toys R Us. I rarely take all 4 by myself in public. I will if I have to, but it makes me a little nervous. I was feeling brave since Abby was there to help.

First stop, CFA. I went through the drive-thru to place my order and kindly asked them to keep the food because we would be dining inside. We parked and then Abby and I each took 2 kiddos and went inside. We tried to remain under the radar, but CFA was packed!! I was so glad our food was already waiting for us. We had a pretty uneventful meal, lots of stares, but no comments. Hampton devoured the fruit, but didn't eat the nuggets. It dawned on me later that it could have been the peanut oil since he is allergic to peanuts?? Due to a recall there was no toy in the kids meal, so we got free ice cream instead. The boys LOVED it! They could not stop signing "more." It was so cute!

Huddy, looking 3!!

Harper hate 10 nuggets and wanted a snack 30 minutes after leaving. Can you say growth spurt?

We loaded up the crew and headed to The Woodlands. I think I had just stopped sweating as we pulled into the Toys R Us parking lot! Harper's birthday is coming up and we wanted to browse through the toys and make a wish list. He wanted the entire store! He has so many toys at home that he does.not.play with. I think he will most likely be getting a bike, but he took a lot of pictures with my phone to tell the grandparents. The boys did pretty good. We needed to shopping carts to tote everyone around. Thank goodness for Abby. Hogan is my steady walker runner, so we let him explore the store.

On the way home Harper and Hudson feel asleep and Abby and I had to stop at Starbucks to stay awake! Happy Wednesday to all!!
