The Aquarium

The week after school let out we loaded up the boys and headed south to the Aquarium. I had driven by the Aquarium numerous times, but honestly I never thought to stop. I was on the computer researching fun things for us to do this summer and I stumbled upon the Aquarium. Tuesday was B1G1  free so I thought it was worth a try. We invited our best buddies who are always up for an adventure.  First ride the, the underwater train! It was pretty neat, the boys loved looking at the sharks and sawfish. It was pretty cool to see them magnified. Harper is currently obsessed with sea life after our recent vacations to the beach.

After the train we ventured out to the ferris wheel. Harper was very unsure of this at first, but I think we ended up riding it 3 times. He loved it! The Aquarium is right off of the highway so we had some pretty cool fews of Houston.

By this time we were HOT! It was time to cool off inside and see what other exhibits they had. The boys loved seeing all the "creatures" behind the class. This was like a mini zoo inside. I enjoyed watching their faces as they explored. Gentry even got brave and touched a sting ray and crab. We ate inside the Aquarium, but next time I think we would bring a picnic lunch. Before heading home, we let the boys splash in the fountains. They were not very entertained. I guess they are growing up! Hogan enjoyed it though:)

Summer Fun

Summer just officially started last week, but here in South Texas is is already 103 with a heat index of 115F!! So if we are outside, there is water involved! I was feeling rather crazy adventurous so I loaded up the boys and took them to a friends house to "swim." We currently all have inflatables, but in few years we are sure to have in-ground pools. It is the only way to beat this heat!! These sweet boys have the best time together and so do their mama's!

We have also been in birthday mode. We kicked off the summer at Pump it Up for G and Jake's birthday. Oh, what fun! The trio even enjoyed it.

Typical, so glad that this was captured, at any given point during a day this is how you can find me!

My Sugar Baby!!
Cam had a few really busy weeks of work. So I let Harper  sleep in my bed. He loved staying up late and watching movies with me. He loves when he gets me all to him self!

Harper, Hudson, and I had the privilege of joining in on a Fun Friday at The Matthew's House. It is always fun at their house, so this time was no different. Angela planned a "Pinterest" inspired water day that did not disappoint. The kids LOVED everything, but especially the water balloons. What is it with kids and water balloons?! Hudson found a balloon when we arrived and played with it the entire 2 hours!!

Ranch Weekend with the B's

BearPa took it upon himself to plan a weekend at the ranch with Harper's best buddies and their granddads....BearPa, Boo-Boo, and Ba-Pa!!  I was blown away that he came up with this idea on this own. The A's: Allyson, Angela, and Ashley have always talked about raising our boys together. I love that the boys love being around each other and are truly best buddies. What a special memory making weekend.

Harper (almost 5) is finally old enough to truly enjoy the ranch. He LOVES everything about it. The Heathcott side of the family are big hunters, so I knew that Harper would eventually want to hunt, but he is obsessed! He is asking for a 22 Cricket for this birthday. I am not sure how I feel about this...

We let the boys get away for the weekend on one condition...they had to take pictures!! So here are a few pictures. Rumor has it they caught fish and shot bb guns most of the weekend, but I think those activities required all hands on deck!
Going to check the hog trap

Dinner? Notice the Sprite cans...I am sure this was for target practice later!

I guess this was a scary pose?!

Memorial Day

It seems like yesterday that we were loading up our family for our "first" trip. Aunt Heather was in town for Memorial Day, and we decided we had enough hands to go visit my parents for the night. Well, this year was totally different. Half the gear, triple the fun, and double the food (that was consumed)!

We spent Saturday at the lake with John Mark and Alli before heading over to Kingwood for the rest of the weekend. It's not Memorial Day without a trip to the lake and some Lee Greenwood!

We swam for two days straight at my parents house. I loved waking up and putting on a swimsuit first thing in the morning. Harper continued to improve in the water and even jumped off the side of the pool and went under. A huge improvement from last year. The trips loved being held and enjoyed splashing their feet on the side of the pool. I think my family could spend everyday at the pool, or at least this mama could! It is just relaxing to me.

My camera battery died, so our weekend in pictures ended shortly. Thank you Addy and Poppy for always welcoming our big bunch!
