Toothless

Harper lost his first tooth!! I think these pictures do a pretty good job of summing up our feelings. Here is how it happened...After weeks of pestering Harper to let us pull out his tooth, and several unsuccessful attempts, he did it himself! My parents asked Harper if they wanted him to pull it out before they went home last Saturday. He said his usual "No." So Cam and I proceed to tell my parents bye while Harper goes inside. Seconds later he runs outside beaming with this tooth in his hand. He had gone behind the couch and have it a yank. He pulled it out himself and was oh so proud!

He is the first in his class to lose a tooth. He couldn't wait to tell everyone all about it. He also wanted to show it to our friend and neighbor Lauren. Somehow with all of the excitement, he forgot what he did with the tooth. So he had to write the tooth fairy a note to let her know he "lost" ( no pun intended!) his tooth.

The following morning Harper ran into our room beaming. He said, "Mooom, She came!!" She left him $2 and a special note. What sweet memories!

Stealing Home with Harper

Baseball has been fun for the whole family. We have had a double header on most Saturdays this Fall. The boys love watching "Bubsy" play ball. They miss a nap while we are at the field, but they are such troopers! We usually all crash when we get home! Harper played short stop this week and did really well. He got a new mesh glove and it had really helped him catch grounders. I think he looks so cute in his little baseball gear. When did all of my boys get so big??
Nothing says fun like an 8 am game!

Birthday

My sweet hubby, along with the help of Jenna and Dustin, my parents, and in-laws planned an amazing birthday for me! It all began with a scone from Panera and coffee from Starbucks. Such treats!! Harper is really into taking pictures these days so he insisted on taking pics of me....early in the morning. He also really wanted to get a picture with me and all the boys, but they have the attention spans of ants. So after a yummy breakfast and lots of cuddles, my parents came over. My Mom and Dad picked up a delicious cake and brought over Chelsea's chicken salad...my absolute favorite!! I guess everyone in my life knows how much I enjoy my food!!

Cam came home early and we packed up and headed to The Woodlands for the night. It is only 20 minutes away, but it was so nice to "get away" if you will. We walked around Market Street most of the afternoon and then went over to the Marriott at the Waterway to check in. Our friends Jenna and Dustin met us there and we walked over to Hubbell and Hudson for dinner. We had an amazing dinner! Jenna is a real foodie so she savored her food and told me all about how it was prepared. I just enjoyed sitting down and eating yummy food that I did not prepare!

A toast to an sweet friendship with easy conversation.

After  2 or maybe 3 hours of eating we walked over to the pavilion to see Train..in the rain! It rained the entire time we  were at dinner, but it stopped on our way to the concert. We only made it to the last 30 minutes of the concert, but it we loved the part we were able to hear.

Thanks friends and family for a wonderful birthday celebration!!

Breakfast Date

An impromptu breakfast date with my boys makes for a happy day :) I am addicted to the Pumpkin Pie Bagel at Panera!!

Dove Hunting with Daddy

Harper is SO into hunting these days. He loves to watch hunting shows and pretends his tree house is a "deer stand." So when the opportunity came for Cam to take Harper on his first dove hunt. He was ecstatic!! I mean could not stop talking about it for weeks. So last Thursday Cam picked up Harper from school and they headed down south. I am still not exactly sure where they went!  I didn't get a ton of details, which I am learning to accept, but from the pictures I received I think it is safe to say they had a blast!! You will notice in the pictures that Harper has on the same outfit....they were gone for 3 days....boys....that is what happens when mama is not around....that is just gross!!!

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach what life is all about.-Angela Schwindt

Isn't that true?! Lately I have found myself struggling with "Mommy time." Which is really not about me. It usually consists of buying the boys new fall clothes online, cleaning out closets, organizing toys, purging toys, replacing batteries, spot cleaning clothes, removing the crusty remnants of yesterdays lunch off of the floor etc etc. I tend to side with "Everything has it's place, and everything in its' place."  When my boys are awake I can't do any of this because they all want mama, all the time. It is chaos if I move within an arms reach of them. Sweet, but difficult. So while I busy myself with life as we know it, I am convicted with what really matters. None of the busy-ness/tidy-ness really matters, what matters is my boys wanting me around.... Because I know there will come a day when I am not their number one girl!

So with all that being said here is what we have been doing lately! Rocking on the porch, sitting in chairs, swinging bats, turning on lights, dancing, playing outside-getting dirty, giving lots of kisses, and enjoying each others company.
