Heart Day

I could hardly wait for Heart Day to roll around...and today was finally our day! We had to make it a "Mommy and Me Monday" because Harper went to the ranch on "Fun Friday." I can assure you he had way more fun there!

We started our morning with waffles topped with a heart shaped strawberry a la mode. The boys even had some heart shaped cereal.  We "Loved" on the little boys until nap time and then began our special day. Once again, I am so thankful to be a Mommy and love how much my big guy loves special one-on-one time.

We learned to Bible verses: A joyful heart is good medicine..Prov 17:22 and God is love. 1 John 4:8.
An we found 2 coordinating videos to watch on Youtube. He loves to be entertained!

Next we practiced writing L-O-V-E like the song and then played an intense game of Love Bug Memory. We tied the game so we decided we each needed a few conversation hearts.

And then we read this precious book called The Best Thing About Valentines...and searched for hearts.

We made heart heart crayons for our friends by chopping crayon and putting them in the over for 15 minutes at 200F.

Then, on to the good stuff..sorting conversation hearts by color. Harper used tweezers to pick up each heart and put then in a tin. He was really good with his hands. We did this with cotton balls when he was 2, he had improved!

We read The Kissing Hand and made our own out of paint. Harper was so sweet to kiss my hand like the story. Such sweetness. Love my boy :) We also learned how to "sign" I love you.

After washing up, we painted over Valentine doilies and turned them into cards. He is a little distracted at this point and it was a good thing because Addy and Poppy were at the door!
