First Day of Kindergarten Prep

School is back in session. I embrace change and I have always looked forward to the start of school. I mean who doesn't love back to school shopping, new school supplies, a fresh haircut, and meeting new friends. Unfortunately, Harper does not share the same love. He came in my room this morning and the first words of of his mouth were, "I don't want to go to school." I have no idea why he feels this way. It is not like he has to be woken up early to go to school and was just grumpy. It makes me so sad that I had to try to cheer him up all morning long. It was dreadful and makes this mama rethink preschool. He is going to FBA again this year. Technically he is in Kindergarten, but since Harper's birthday is August 14th, we will be doing Kinder again in public school next Fall. I have been calling this year Kindergarten Prep because I don't want him to be confused/sad when he is in Kinder again the following year. He grumbled all morning about every little thing, but when we arrived at school, he
bee-bopped right in and was happy.

This was my first attempt at first day of school pictures, this one was followed by several fake smiles and frowns. I desperately got creative and put an apple of his head and FINALLY got a few smiles.

New running shoes!
This year Harper will be going to school Monday-Thursday. So it looks like we will all be taking Harper to school each day. Thank goodness they have a drop off zone!! The boys were good in the car so I treated myself to Starbucks on the way home. My hubby asked me what I was going to do with all of my free time while Harper was it school!!! Oh sweet husband..sit around and eat bon bons of course.
The boys, it was too early to get everyone dressed

Signing is treats we made for his friends

I pulled out a few of my classroom books, this one was always a favorite for back to school.

Flowers for Ms. Thompson, she has 2 girls and 8 boys in her class! Yikes.

I pray that Harper has a great year in K prep as he prepares for public school next year. May he be kind to his friends, respectful of his teacher, a good listener, and learn more about the Lord each day. I am so thankful for another year in an awesome school!

I REALLY love this picture of the back of his head. Keepin' it honest! You'll laugh at that when he's in college!

Your family is so adorable. We are doing the same thing with our son! His 5th birthday was August 10, so we have him in a private kinder but he will attend kindergarten "officially" next year.
