FIrst day of Kindergarten

Watch out world, Harper is off to Kindergarten! The real deal, off to elementary school.  Our morning started out with me waking up to an alarm at 6:30 am. I have not heard that sound all summer! I quickly got dressed in order to wake up Harper at 6:45. I was not sure what time to wake him up, but I did not want him to feel rushed or frazzled. I gently patted his back and he yelled "No, stop, it is too early!" I concur son! I snuggled him in bed until 7am and then I went to make breakfast. He joined me for breakfast and then he brushed his teeth and got dressed with out missing a beat. ChaCha came over to stay with the little boys while Cam and I walked Harper to school. We snapped a few pictures in our usual spot. He was cracking us up with his posing!!

When we got to school we saw Gentry and took some more pictures. Harper is in Kindergarten, but his classroom is in the first grade hall. This was a God-thing, he feels so cool being by his buddies in first grade-Lauren and G!

After dropping him off I did not feel sad. If anything I felt excited. I truly love this time of year and a fresh start. Cam and I talked the whole way home about our big Kindergartener. I prayed for Harper every time I thought of him throughout the day. He didn't know anyone in his class, so I just wanted him to have a buddy.
My big guy was off to school, but I got to stay home with these rowdy three.

When I picked Harper up from school the first thing out of his mouth was, "I don't want to go back tomorrow. My teacher was mean and she yelled all day!" Not exactly what I was hoping to hear. He fought back tears, but we talked about him setting a good example for the others in his class. We have been totally spoiled at preschool. I couldn't wait to check his backpack and find out about his school and class, but it was empty. Once again, we were spoiled at FBA, I thought there would be a note about his day, if he behaved, or ate lunch or ANYTHING! So I guess we are officially in elementary school in a class with 25 students.  It is time to amp up my prayers and just pray for his teachers and classmates. And just pray that he remembers everything we've taught him.

Today as I type this it is day two. It began with a bribe to get him out of bed and off to school. I have also promised to bring CFA and have lunch with him on Thursday.
