8 Months and 4 years 4 months

"Tiny tots all a glow"
Another month has already passed?! This is the busiest time of the year, but are my babies REALLY 8 months old. You don't know how quickly time flies until you have a baby. It flies. My babies are no longer babies. I am thrilled to watch them grow and develop and learn something new everyday. They have each changed so much over the past month. They are each physically active and in constant motion. No one has mastered crawling, but they each get up and rock. Hogan has been on all fours since he was 6 months old. I can't believe he has not started crawling yet.  Hogan and Hudson get stuck under the couch everyday. They have mastered scooting backwards! I can no longer set them down and expect them to stay in one spot. I need to start baby proofing. Christmas is ten days away and the Christmas tree is still standing, so the fact that they are not crawling is okay with me!

During some point of the day I am holding a baby while eating a meal. I have to be so careful, because they grab everything within reach and it goes directly in their mouth. This morning Hudson stuck his fist in my hot oatmeal. oops! Speaking of eating, they love to eat! They eat four times a day 7, 11, 3, and 7. We are in the process of changing the schedule. I think they are ready to transition to 3 meals. They have tried, apples, pears, bananas, avocado, squash, carrots, sweet potato, green beans, and peas. I think we are supposed to start meats this month, honestly this grosses me out! We have not given the boys solid foods. Hampton and Hogan each have their bottom 2 teeth. Hudson has puffy gums, so he should get teeth this  month.

They are still fabulous night time sleepers. We start our evening routine around 5 pm when daddy gets home from work. They usually get their last bottle around 6:30 and then they are sound asleep by 7-7:15. They go right to sleep when I put them in their crib with a lovie and paci. Everyone wants to know if they wake each other up, and the answer is no. We turn on a noise machine and run a humidifier, but it is not super loud. I feel very blessed to have such great sleepers and nappers!

Their vocabulary has changed this month. It has gone from cooing to dadadadada or hiiiidadadada. I know they really don't know what they are saying, but it seriously sounds like "Hi Dada." Hogan likes to babble while Hampton and Hudson pretty much stick to hiiiidadadada. I love my noisy house, the sweetest sounds in the world.

The trio usually never leaves the house all together. I always have one little guy with me when I take Harper to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So they spend the majority of the day enjoying each other's company. They are very content playing on a big quilt on the floor. Hudson really likes to bounce and Hogan has been known to fall asleep while jumping! They have outgrown the swings and they try to sit all the way up in a bouncer. I guess that means they really prefer the floor. They are great at manipulating toys and they love anything that sings or lights up. Hello batteries! Hudson would prefer to be an only child, he LOVES to be held. So when we are all playing on the floor he is right by my side. Here are a few pictures.... and no one got electrocuted!

Handsome Harper, Dec 2011
Harper is 4 years old and 4 months!! I can't believe my oldest is growing up so fast! In the last couple of months he has really matured. He is so smart, caring, loving, and friendly. He loves preschool, but is so happy for some down time on Mondays and Fridays. We call those pajama days! Harper's imagination is in full force right now...not always a good thing. He has been caught in several lies lately. He loves sports, anything with friends or the outdoors, super heros, and crafts.
Funny things Harper has said lately..
I asked him if he knew one of the 10 commandments. His response" "Don't shoot people, owls, or Santa."

Casey: "Harper, where does bacon come from?"
Harper: "IHOP"

Cam: "Harper, what's my full name?"
Harper: "Baby Daddy."

Sings "I have to pee like a river," rather than I have peace like a river!

Harper (to Hogan) You're not going to pull big brother's hair are you? I may have a fight with you someday!

Hogan had just pooped "Mom, Hogan smells like he's dead!"

Harper passed gas in my face..

Me: "Harper!"
Harper: "Just showing you my love, mom."
