BU Homecoming

Every year we look forward to Baylor Homecoming. I did not attend BU, but I love going back to Waco. There is just something special about a college town. Cam and I lived in Waco our first year of marriage, so that is probably another reason it is fun to visit.

We decided to make a long weekend out homecoming because any one with multiple kids knows that you pack the same about of stuff if you go out of town for one night or four! We arrived Friday early afternoon and went to Cameron Park Zoo. It was the perfect sized park for our 6-pack. The boys loved seeing the animals and it wasn't too much walking for Harper...not to mention we had the entire place to ourselves!! There was a toddler friendly playground in the middle of the zoo, which made it fun for everyone to stretch their legs.

After a fun afternoon at the zoo, we checked into our hotel. We loaded ALL of our gear, children,  and 3 pack n plays (just to give you a mental picture) up to our room and began to get settled. Traveling with kids is hard, but traveling with 4 kids is not for the weak. I am very thankful Cam even wanted to attempt this trip because I think I was ready to drive home after the bonfire. We headed over to campus to eat dinner in the Student Union. We were craving Ninfa's but were not feeling that brave. Lucky for us there was a CFA, but the triplets were not in the mood. What kids don't like CFA?! I tried to keep the crying to a minimum because there might be some college student at Baylor that wants to have kids someday....but what can I say my kids were in rare form. It is times like these that I wish we had a reality show, because I think we could be pretty entertaining! I was passing out all my snacks to keep everyone under wraps, but it was crazy I tell ya. Hudson squeezed a baby food pouch all over himself so he was forced to go shirtless. I had no extra clothes, it was 5pm and the bonfire didn't start until 9:30. We were those people :) We tried to take them outside to run around, but they were just plain tired. I am not sure why we thought it would be okay to stay, but we did. The bonfire was underwhelming and we spent most of our time trading off kids, but we did it and we won't be doing it again :)

After a good nights sleep we went to the homecoming parade. Harper reunited with his buddy Braden and consumed large amounts of candy. Cam and I enjoyed catching up with our friends Jared and Jamie. Jared and Cam were KOT's together and roommates. They have twin boys, Gage and Graham and they are too cute. For the most part the boys enjoyed the parade. I think we are just one year away from them loving it! The KOT float won, but it broke down in the middle of the parade! We had a 45 minute intermission so the boys played football. It was so cute, love being a boy mom. After the parade we passed the torch to Bearpa and Cha Cha who graciously offered to keep the trio while we went to the game.

We went and got Bush's Chicken to-go and made our own tailgate at the stadium. We walked around and saw old friends before the game started. It was SO hot at humid for a November Day. I was the only one who didn't bring short sleeves. Oops! We were able to sit in club level seats, which if you know Harper, was such a treat!! That boys loves to eat. He is my little hungry caterpillar who ate during the entire game!! Baylor pulled out a win so it was a great day!
